SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 38
(By Senators Helmick and Ross)
Congratulating the Franklin High School boys' basketball team for
winning the 1992 Class A state championship.
Whereas, The Franklin High School boys' basketball team
participated in and won the 1992 Class A state championship for
the first time in the school's history; and
Whereas, The Franklin High School Panthers, under the
leadership of head coach Greg Smith and assistant coach Rick
Linaburg, ended the 1992 season with twenty-six wins and one
loss; and
Whereas, During the 1992 season, the Panthers also won the
Potomac Valley Conference championship and the Section II and
Region IV championships; and
Whereas, The outstanding 1992 championship wins are
accredited to the athletic ability and the exceptional teamwork
of the players: David Thompson, Jeff Davis, Brian Mitchell,
Brian Calhoun, Jasper Hartman, Jamie Watson, David Marsh, J.D.
Hevener, Shannon Pitsenbarger, Matt Fleisher, James Mooney and
Jason Kimble; as well as the the team managers and support staff:
Shawna Murphy, Aimee Hartman, Cindy Evick, Emily Fior, Bryan
Propst and Chris Weaver; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby congratulates the Franklin HighSchool boys' basketball team for their outstanding 1992
championship season and for their outstanding athletic abilities;
and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to
forward a copy of this resolution to Greg Smith, head coach of
the Franklin High School boys' basketball team; the assistant
coach, Rick Linaburg; the managers and support staff; and the
team members.
